Whether you've been following us for a while or just recently heard about us, you may know we are growing.
Candidates who apply to work at Menlo receive a brief qualifying questionnaire that includes a clarifying question about in-person work at our Ann Arbor, Michigan office. We understand that our 5-day-per-week in office work style may cause many to stop the process right there. We get it. That's why we ask.
I can easily understand why many would turn away at this point. Many in-person workplaces were draconian in their messaging and approach to bringing people back to the office after the pandemic. We were not. We approached this slowly and carefully. We were certain of our destination, but we didn't reach it suddenly. We eased our way back and continue to offer a dozen elective work-from-home days per year to all of our team members.
The other common lament is, "Why should I come into an office when I spend most or all of my day on Zoom calls?" Not here. We work in pairs, in an open space. There is noise, laughter, camaraderie, and human energy. And yes, there are Zoom calls too. If we pair with our clients' team members, there may be a lot of online collaboration. Yet, your Menlo peers are nearby and available. Help arrives even when it isn't sought, because other pairs may overhear your struggles and ask about them. One of our core values is "Help Others Succeed".
If this sounds appealing, you may want to reconsider why a 5-day-per-week in-office experience might actually work for you.
The good news is that our interview process allows you to give it a try! This includes trial periods of doing real work in our office, with Menlo pair partners, on real projects.
