Lead With Joy

We all want joy in our lives: at home, at work, in our communities. But is it reasonable to believe that we can in fact have joy in our workplaces? Despite the Gallup organization reporting every year for decades that 60% to 70% of employees are disengaged at work, Menlo's answer is emphatically YES! And we believe that it starts with an intentionally joyful and personal approach to leadership.

Over the course of two immersive days, awaken your inner joyful leader with Menlo CEO and Chief Storyteller Rich Sheridan. As a former hobby pilot, Rich will liken the four fundamental forces at work on an airplane (Lift, weight/gravity, thrust, and drag) to those at work in our organizations to help you understand how to curate a trust-based, motivating environment for your people. Complete with compelling stories, handcrafted exercises, and focused tours of Menlo Innovations as tools to guide you through this deep dive, together we will uncover how we can empower ourselves and our teams to make our organizational aircrafts FLY!

This is a deeply moving workshop that will change your heart as a leader and lift your team to heights and distances that were previously unimaginable. This is not a theoretical workshop, but one grounded in the practical experiences of the Menlo Innovations team since 2001.
 

You will come away knowing how to:

  • Develop practical approaches to Lift the human energy of your team. You will better understand the importance of clarity over ambiguity and developing systems of work that allow your team to get meaningful things done.
  • Reduce the Weight of bureaucracy by eliminating ineffective meetings and replacing them with more effective rituals and visual management systems. The goal is to move your team to a "take action" mentality versus "take a meeting".
  • Ensure that your organization (whether team, department, division, or company) has an effective purpose to act as Thrust to pull you through tough economic weather or the stress of growth.
  • Confront the Drag of fear-based leadership and the negative effects it produces on creativity, imagination, invention, and innovation.
  • Make the phrase "Let's Run the Experiment" a powerful new part of your leadership vocabulary.

The Lead With Joy Workshop is best for upper-level managers, leaders, and executives and is limited to 12 attendees to allow for deeper conversations and a more personal experience. For this workshop, we are happy to continue our conversations at a dinner after Day 1. Completing this workshop satisfies the PMP® requirements for earning 16 Professional Development Units (PDUs).

Public workshops are dependent on a minimum number of attendees to run and are subject to cancellation in the case that this number is not met.
